MAKE YOUR EVENT BUZZ WITH FUZE

Looking for a fresh way to celebrate events or help to commemorate life’s many milestones?  Then a new Scottish business start-up may be just the thing for you!The company, Fuze Ceremonies, is out to bring freshness and difference to key life events.

Says Anne Widdop, founding director of the business, “People want freedom of choice in their marriage ceremonies, in what is said at funerals and want a modern twist on Christenings. Fuze also offers a professional speech writing service.  Speaking in public has become a key differentiator and a skill more and more people need to master - whether it’s a business pitch, a speech at a wedding or an interview.”

Last year the company won the 2012 Glasgow Caledonian University Award for Community Impact and was Semi-Finalist for Glasgow's got Business Talent.

Among services offered are:

  • Humanist Marriage Ceremonies (same legal authorisation as a registrar).  Since starting in April 2012, Fuze has married 120 couples and has already taken 60 bookings for 2013. There’s plenty of scope to grow: some 38,000 couples marry in Scotland each year.
  •  Naming days.  Fuze conducted 20 christenings last year – and it’s a growing market. It is partnering with a big hotel chain to launch these services this year.
  •  Speak-Write. a speech writing service.  It also offers other communications aids to help you get your message across.
  • Essential Funerals Etablished in August, Essential Funerals marks a clear distinction from “happy” ceremonies in Fuze.  Essential Funerals provides professional funeral celebrants and in 2012 we conducted around four funerals a week, purely by word of mouth.
