WEST LOTHIAN LAUNCHES #GETAJOB

A West Lothian pilot employability scheme has been launched this week.

It’s being run by West Lothian Chamber of Commerce in partnership with West Lothian College, DWP and JobCentre Plus.

Called #getajob, it is designed to support 18-24 year olds in developing the skills necessary to succeed in interviews and secure employment.

The two-week programme will work with groups of young people to improve their chances of success in job interviews.

The programme is the brainchild of Chief Executive of West Lothian Chamber of Commerce, Linda Scott.

The initiative has obtained funding from Erasmus, a European Union student exchange programme. Currently a pilot programme will run over 6 months; if successful #getajob programmes will be rolled out across Scotland.
