NEW CHAIR FOR FAMILY BUSINESS GROUP

Ben Gray has been appointed as the new chairman of the Institute for Family Business in Scotland.

Mr Gray – who is Head of Strategy and Development for DC Thomson Group, the family-owned media company based in Dundee – succeeds David Murray, who held the positon for five years.

He was previously MD of DC Thomson’s magazine division and ran a major outsourcing and restructuring project, transforming the performance of its publishing arm.

In his new role as IFB regional chairman, Mr Gray will be responsible for continuing the growth and expansion of the organisation with a particular focus on rolling out learning and networking events supporting family firms to thrive for generations to come.

Said Peter Armitage, chairman of the IFB, “Scotland has a significant family business presence, with more than 290,000 firms family owned, and the IFB is committed to building a strong network to promote and support them”.
