LBTT SPARKS A RUSH TO THE BATHROOM
Here’s one happy outcome of Scotland’s new Land & Buildings Transactions Tax regime: a rush to the bathroom.
RONNIE SCOTT, boss of upmarket bathroom business, BOSCOLO, says owners of £1 million plus properties are telling him they are choosing not to sell because of the new LBTT.
Instead they are spending money improving their existing homes - including upgraded bathrooms.
We must all take comfort when we can, Ronnie, and can that can often be in our very own “comfort station”.
Good news, too, for plumbers, floor and wall tilers and fancy tap merchants as well, of course, for Boscolo and other ‘high end’ bathroom providers.
