BIG BANG LESSONS – 30 YEARS ON

On October 27th 2016 the Library of Mistakes ‘celebrates’ the 30th anniversary of Big Bang.

Financial guru and author PHILIP AUGAR will give a lecture at The David Hume Institute to mark the occasion. Its theme will be the unintended consequences of deregulation and its role in broken capitalism
Big Bang led to a dramatic increase in the size of the UK’s financial services industry and made London one of the financial capitals of the world.

But could it also have contributed to the financial crisis of 2008?

Augar’s books - The Death of Gentlemanly Capitalism, The Greed Merchants and Chasing Alpha- provide trenchant criticism of the way financial services operates.
There will be a drinks reception following each seminar to which all are invited.
Entry is free to members. Non-members £25 per seminar, students £5 per seminar.
